We believe.... that we are saved by God's GRACE ALONE (Sola Gratia), through FAITH ALONE (Sola Fide) apart from any human works or merits, in CHRIST ALONE (Solus Christus), who mediates salvation through his atoning work on the cross, as presented through God's WORD ALONE (Sola Scriptura), to the end that GOD ALONE BE THE GLORY (Soli Deo Gloria).
We believe.... in one God in three persons (the Triune God) – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as confessed in the ecumenical creeds of the one holy, catholic (universal), and Apostolic Church. (Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian). We believe.... that the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds are true declarations of the faith of the Church.
We believe.... in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe. We believe.... that Jesus Christ is the Word of God incarnate, through whom everything was madeand through whose life, death, and resurrection, God fashions a new creation. We believe.... that the proclamation of God’s Word to us comes as both Law and Gospel and that it is the Word of God, revealing judgment and mercy through word and deed, beginning with the Word in creation, continuing in the history of Israel, and centering in all its fullness in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe.... that the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God. Inspired by the Holy Spirit speaking through their authors, they record and announce God’s revelation centering in Jesus Christ. Through them the Holy Spirit speaks to us to create and sustain Christian faith and fellowship for service in the world. We believe.... that the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source and norm of the Church's proclamation, faith and life, "according to which all doctrines should and must be judged." (Formula of Concord, Epitome, Part I) We believe... as Christians in the Lutheran tradition that the confessional documents of the church, namely: The Unaltered Augsburg Confession; The Apology to the Augsburg Confession; the Smalcald Articles and the Treatise; the Small and Large Catechisms; and the Formula of Concord are true witnesses to the Gospel and are further valid interpretations of the faith of the Church.
